Item Description:
Sometimes only a big 17' screen will do for maximum impact. The Satellite P300D series is a powerful home computing, multimedia entertainment system with the mobility of a laptop. It is ideal for watching DVDs, editing photos, creating home movies and playing games.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great and resistant laptop! ...
This is a graet laptop, great big screan, realy good sound on harman/kardon speakers, integrated graphic card ati radeon 3100 but it's very good for games (PES 2008)...for integrated card.
And the main thing why i am doing this review is becouse this laptop fall down from 2 meter high twice, one time closed, one time open and everything STILL WORKING PERFECT! Toshiba !!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * TOSHIBA SATELLITE P305D-S8828 IS A GREAT DEAL ...
This is my first NEW laptop and I am very pleased. In the past, I had purchased a used Toshiba and it is still working. This is everyhthing and more than I had expected. Nice screen and good sound. The fan is a little noisy, but it is 2 speed. Even works fine on dial-up, here in the woods. The processor works fine, but I am not a heavy user. Graphics are good, but I am not a gamer. The hard drive is not really 200 GB, but about 184 GB. The only down fall is Windows Vista, which has a mind of its own. I still have to remove some more of the junk software. I would buy this notebook again. The extended warranties are reasonable and can be added upto 6 months after the purchase.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great price ...
The price is very good for these specs. The finish on the laptop makes it look classy and glossy. The laptop is a bit heavy but that's because of the 17" screen which shows very good. There's no DVI out, but a RGB output, which is good for this price range. The integrated video is capable but not for a serious gamer. It handles movies and xvid decoding quite well.
The laptop is fast and comes with quite a lot of functional software (as well as trial software that I wish they didn't put on). The keyboard layout is nice.
Overall this laptop is powerful and very professional looking. It looks and performs like a much more expensive machine !

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Attractive and fast laptop ...
I bought the Toshiba P305D-S8828 from Circuit City as a replacement for my two-year-old desktop. I'm amazed at how fast this laptop is. I have many gigabytes worth of photos and artwork, and they copied onto the Toshiba in just minutes.

The display is big, bright, and crisp. I love how the keyboard includes and full keypad. It's turned out to be very handy. I was a little skeptical at first about the set of touch controls above the keyboard. They turned out to be convenient and easy to use. The volume range is wide, which is nice to see in a Laptop.

The only Con I can think of is that it comes with Vista, but everything does nowadays. It's loaded with "Security Features" which really only make downloading and using programs more difficult.

Overall, I totally recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable, medium performance laptop.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great for video and audio conferencing ...
One best thing I liked about this Toshiba was that the warranty is available anywhere in the country. I sent this as a gift for my niece overseas. It performs well for what is intended: To chat online. It has a built-in microphone and webcam and we are able to swap still pictures while chatting on line. So far, we have not encountered any difficulties. It does perform smoothly. The sound system is not bad either. It has harman/kardon® stereo speakers, Headphone jack (stereo), Microphone jack (mono). It has nice 17" screen, Vista Home Premium, 2.0 GHz processor speed, touch multimedia button. It has a dual-core processor(AMD Turion), 200G HD, 3072 memory, Atheros wireless-Lan. We also use it a lot to make invitation and other greeting cards. Its sufficient enough to handle lots of graphics.

It's a little fat and heavy, but its fusion finish made up for it. Indeed, it looks very stylish. My niece and I like it and use it a lot. No regret in buying it. Cold Eyes

Joshua Logan's 1967 film of the hit Broadway musical about the love triangle between King Arthur (Richard Harris), Guenevere (Vanessa Redgrave), and Sir Lancelot (Franco Nero) is strong on star emphasis and weak on such fundamentals as story and sets. Except for a handful of solidly dramatic scenes--such as Guenevere grieving, late in the film, for the ruination she and Lancelot have caused--there's not a lot to get excited about. (The story's theme of a lost, great society, however, certainly struck a chord in the 1960s.) The Lerner-Loewe songs ("If Ever I Would Leave You," "Camelot") pretty much sell themselves, even if they are, at best, only proficiently performed in this movie. --Tom Keogh

"The book was better" has been the complaint of many a reader since the invention of movies. Frank Darabont's second adaptation of a Stephen King prison drama (The Shawshank Redemption was the first) is a very faithful adaptation of King's serial novel. In the middle of the Depression, Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) runs death row at Cold Mountain Penitentiary. Into this dreary world walks a mammoth prisoner, John Coffey (Michael Duncan) who, very slowly, reveals a special gift that will change the men working and dying (in the electric chair, masterfully and grippingly staged) on the mile . As with King's book, Darabont takes plenty of time to show us Edgecomb's world before delving into John Coffey's mystery. With Darabont's superior storytelling abilities, his touch for perfect casting, and a leisurely 188-minute running time, his movie brings to life nearly every character and scene from the novel. Darabont even improves the novel's two endings, creating a more emotionally satisfying experience. The running time may try patience, but those who want a story, as opposed to quick-fix entertainment, will be rewarded by this finely tailored tale. --Doug Thomas

On the DVD

Listen to our interview with Frank Darabont.
Anyone who has seen this Oscar-nominated film knows Frank Darabont likes to t-a-k-e h-i-s t-i-m-e. He certainly does the same in filling all three hours of his commentary track which he recorded over several sessions. Darabont has studied other DVDs and purposely does not repeat tidbits covered in the excellent new 90-minute documentary on author Stephen King and the making of the film. Other solid segments are two deleted scenes, a never-used teaser trailer, and Michael Duncan Clarke's screen test. The highlight is two remarkable tests of Tom Hanks in old-age makeup. Both are very credible, but it was decided to use another actor. The outcome is a DVD that puts the "special" back into the special edition. --Doug Thomas

When Roman tribune Marcellus Gallio (Richard Burton) is sent to Jerusalem, one of his assignments is the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Marcellus, a cynical and hardened man, wins the robe Jesus wore to the crucifixion while gambling with other Roman soldiers underneath the dying savior. He later becomes convinced that his hallucinations and violent outbursts are the result of a curse received from the robe, which is now in the possession of his escaped slave, Demetrius (Victor Mature), somewhere in the Middle East. He sets out to find Demetrius in order to destroy the robe and the curse and finds faith instead, converting to Christianity. This was the first movie to be filmed in CinemaScope, and won Oscars in 1953 for costume design, art direction, and set decoration. The visual aspects of the film are stunning, and it may be worth viewing for that alone; however, the script and acting leave much to be desired, and you won't find inspiration in these areas if that's what interests you. If, however, you are more interested in this film for its religious matter, the story of the conversion of the hardened Marcellus is inspiring. --James McGrath
